Meal Tip: Taco Tuesdays at the HaVen Happy Hour

HavenInterior006 CREDIT ZOLTANLincoln Road hotspot HaVen Gastro-Lounge recently unveiled a new HaVen Happy Hour menu featuring beer, wine, and craft cocktails along with a selection of small plates. Neon lit and perfect for large groups, the 2,000 square foot watering hole is a refreshing change from the usually overcrowded SoBe establishments. If you’re local to the beach, you know it’s quite rare to find a good bar that’s also a good size for a party of more than three or four.

Short Rib TacosAfter checking out the new menu, we’re very pleased to see that the tapas are priced quite perfectly at $5, $7, and $9 respectively. Well-respected Executive Chef Todd Erickson’s offerings are a balanced mix of renewed classics – like grilled cheese (served with a tomato bisque) – to brand new creations like the spider (soft shell crab, avocado, sweet corn, & wasabi remoulade). And as if eight legged tapas wasn’t enough, there will also be a daily sushi roll and slider available as part of the Happy Hour.

Now the real foodie treat comes on Taco Tuesdays, where Chef Erickson will be giving a sneak preview of the menu at Huahua’s Taqueria, the newest eatery from Haven Hospitality Concepts. Each week until Huahua’s opens, the HaVen Happy Hour will feature a fresh taco served two for $5. The Short Rib Tacos (featured at the left) were the first iteration and came dressed with pickled jalapeno and sweet heat coleslaw. Curious guests can follow @HuahuasTaco & @HaVenSouthBeach on Twitter to find out the offerings each Tuesday.

And if you’re on a ‘liquid diet,’ no worries there’s some great 2-4-1 cocktail specials available on Perrier-Jouet champagne, Graffigna Pinot Grigio and Cabernet, Absolut cocktails, and beer. Cheers!

The HaVen Happy Hour will be served every night of the week from 6 to 8 p.m. Stop in now and let us know what you think!
